A Practical Introduction to Machine Learning for SEO Professionals

#artificialintelligence

The list of mind-numbing SEO tasks that can be automated continues to grow and I'm eager to see more automation applications shared in the community. Given the positive reception of my practical introduction to Python column and the growing importance of machine learning skills, I decided to write this machine learning piece, which I've tried to make super easy to follow. I coded a simple to follow Google Colab notebook that you can use to produce a custom training dataset. This dataset will help us build a CTR predictive model. However, instead of using our model to predict the CTR, we will use it to learn if adding keywords to the title tags predicts success.

Google is adding new data to Search Console giving retailers insight into the performance of product rich results in Google Search. The data can be found in a new Search Appearance in the Search Console performance report, which captures stats such as total clicks, impressions, average click-through rate, and average position. Websites that are eligible to appear in Google's product search results will find a new Search Appearance type called "Product results." "Website owners need to understand the impact of these rich results. The Google Search Console Performance report provides key metrics like clicks and impressions to help webmasters understand and optimize the performance of their website results on Google Search. These metrics can further be segmented by device, geography and queries."

How to understand searcher intent and use it to boost SEO rankings - Search Engine Land

#artificialintelligence

Search engines exist to provide users with results that are relevant to the search query. Smart SEO campaigns are built on an understanding of how your audience searches around your industry, products and services. A key point here is understanding the intent behind a given keyword search. A user wants to find specific information, and search engines have advanced algorithms and large amounts of traffic they analyze to determine which results are the best match for a keyword. Understanding the broad categories of intent is crucial to developing a search engine optimization and content strategy to target not only the keywords but the intent behind the keywords.

@machinelearnbot

Four months ago, we reported that Google will be bringing voice query data to Search Analytics within the Google Search Console reporting engine. But when Gary Illyes was asked about it just a week or so ago, he had no updates to share. Simon Heseltine quoted Gary Illyes from Google saying on stage "I don't know if anyone is working on filtering out voice data at this time." Jenny Halasz quoted him saying "We're getting voice query data in search console, but we're just not able to filter. So we have no ETA on when this might be coming.

How to unlock "Not provided" keywords in analytics report? AFS Analytics provides an innovative solution with an algorithm using artificial intelligence and data provided by Google Search Console. Today, secure searches account for 95% of Google's traffic. The other search engines follow the same trend. Keywords or search terms don't show in the referrer's URL, the web analytics services, including Google Analytics, cannot collect this data for their clients and display the message "Keyword not provided".
